Peter Birkett has over 30 years experience working in the arts.
It’s art but not just for art’s sake – Peter is commercially aware through his work in corporate design and graphics. He holds qualifications in Graphics and Graphic Design, and a Certificate in Adult Teaching.
His design career started the moment he left York Art College in 1980, and spans the fields of graphic design, exhibition work, traditional print and online design. Peter also worked closely with the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) in Trinidad, helping staff to develop their skills.
Peter combines his passion for imagery by also offering freelance photography and commemorative, presentational and promotional sculptures. Peter has also worked as an Adult education tutor in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, inDesign, and other Mac skills.
In his spare time, he handles the publicity and promotions for the Medway Modelling Club, an award winning local club, which he is an active member of.
From a very early age, Peter has collected anything and almost everything! Once the shoebox of Dinky aircraft and fossils started to overflow, his collection has expanded more each year.
If you would like to know more about his Dinky toys, Airfix and Frog kits, old plastic figures, enamel signs, vintage cycles, British motorcycles, militaria, vintage smoking and tobacco related objects… it goes on, please get in contact.
Peter is a member of several living history groups including The 10th Essex Regt. and The Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regt.
“Fitting the statue to the plinth as I type. Looks excellent! Great sculpting Pete. I think people will be very, very impressed.”
